Extensions are not written by Mozilla and they are not tested with the browser or in combination with each other. Extensions are normally installed by visiting a website such as addons.mozilla.org and clicking an "Install" link but there are also many applications that include Firefox extensions or toolbars that can be installed without you being aware of it. Most extensions can be disabled or uninstalled in Firefox using the Add-ons manager ("Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions") although a few extensions may present removal problems. In some cases, you may need to run Firefox in a special mode called "Firefox Safe Mode" to access the Add-ons manager.
