This is a clone of the Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana.. small pieces and cook until browned and meat is ground in bottom of your soup pan over med-high heat.
If you're going for that signature Olive Garden flavor, the key is to use *spicy* Italian. . the red pepper (dropped it in the crock pot, got way too much in the soup).
I made a few edits to the original recipe (mild instead of hot Italian sausage, different potatoes, more garlic, water, and cream, etc.) and wrote my own directions .
